Qucell Networks acquired approvals of FCC Part 96(CBRS) and OnGo certification of CBRS Alliance for Outdoor Small Cell (Model name: SC-220). Outdoor Small Cell (SC-220) which meets category A and supports 2CA(Carrier Aggregation) in 40 MHz of CBRS bands will be commercialized in the US in 2020. It will be used to support mobile broadband and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and offer new opportunities for private LTE operators. It will be installed on walls/columns to provide wireless services in 3.5 GHz band.
CBRS (Citizen Broadband Radio Service), a shared spectrum, is a 150 MHz wide broadcast band of the 3.5 GHz (3550 MHz to 3700 MHz) in the United States. The US FCC approved Initial Commercial Deployment (ICD) of Spectrum Access Systems (SAS) for CBRS commercial services in September this year. Also, Qucell Networks is a member of CBRS Alliance which includes major companies such as AT&T, Verizon, Samsung, Ericsson, Nokia and Qualcomm to solve the frequency shortage problem of 4G LTE and secure next-generation 5G frequency.
Qucell Networks has also earned CBRS Alliance’s “OnGo” certification, which ensures the performance, suitability, and interoperability of the products. The use of the “OnGo” brand will be formally guaranteed to ensure product reliability and interoperability when the product is commercialized.
Qucell Networks has established a bridgehead for entering the US CBRS market by getting certified for the CBRS product. Also, Qucell Networks is expected to increase the market share in the global market with increasing interest in CBRS band through 5G wireless network band worldwide.
“We will strive to contribute to the CBRS ecosystem through the development of 5G technologies. Also, we will provide new experiences to customers with a wide range of small cells and will increase global market share” said Seunghwan Ji, General manager, Small Cell business of Qucell.
